INSPIRATION 

I'm grateful for all the magical, inspiring women I've met along my journeys around the globe. Most of the photos of these artists, musicians, dancers and healers were spontaneous, with little or no staging or direction, using only natural lighting.

The image of Regina Rhythm in the red dress with her drum and feather was taken in Costa Rica while we were on a beautiful virgin beach with no one else around. We hadn't planned to do a photoshoot that day - but she was up in a tree in her bikini and I asked if I could take her picture. We started playing around and she said, "I just bought a new red dress and it's in the car, should I put it on?" Yes yes! So we started to play spontaneously - and magic happened.

This uplifting image of Regina turned into the start of a music video called LA MEDICINA about the healing elements of the Earth, Water, Fire and Air. We shot most of it that day - then we were able to bring Regina to California for a recording session at Ben Leinbach's studio. Regina and Ben did a beautiful job and we released the song during the summer of 2019. A year went by and we hadn't gotten around to editing the music video - but when we were in lockdown we found the time...despite the 8 hour time difference since she lives in London and I live in Berkeley, California. We released the music video on Earth Day, April 22, 2020, and gave all the proceeds to a non-profit organization that protects the Amazon rain forest. 

The earth and all the elements are the medicine we most need to connect with to heal the planet, our society, and ourselves.

I'm donating 10% of the proceeds from sales of this set of images to non-profit organizations working to protect and restore the environment.
